Conception and editorship of the second volume of the series "Interdisciplinary Studies on Mediation and Conflict Management"
In the series "Interdisciplinary Studies on Mediation and Conflict Management", the second volume is dedicated to the rapidly developing field of conflict management in business. The presentation and critical reflection of different forms of conflict management in business is divided into five sections: The volume begins with an overview of developments in science and practice up to the status quo (section 1). This is followed by empirical studies and practical reports on various components of conflict management (conflict contact points, systematic choice of procedure, conflict handlers, procedural standards, documentation and internal/external presentation), which are based on the Viadrina component model (section 2). The third section describes possible development paths and establishment strategies for conflict management structures. Subsequently, several contributions offer illustrative material in the form of area-specific approaches and case studies (section 4). Finally (section 5), development perspectives and future issues of conflict management in business are examined.
The more than 20 individual contributions were written by academics and practitioners with different disciplinary backgrounds, so that a variety of perspectives and practical conflict management experiences are incorporated into the volume. The circle of authors is made up of academics, large and medium-sized companies and institutional dispute resolution providers who are in intensive dialogue with each other via the Round Table Mediation and Conflict Management of the German Economy.
