Teaching
University courses of the Institute for Conflict Management
Members of the Institute for Conflict Management teach at various institutions within and outside the Viadrina. At Viadrina, they are responsible for various key qualifications at the Faculty of Law and for individual modules in several master's programmes. Furthermore, IKM employees regularly supervise doctoral students as well as final theses from various bachelor's and master's programmes.
Since 2022, the IKM has been offering a condensed certificate programme aimed at bachelor's, master's and doctoral students at the European University Viadrina. It offers an additional qualification for areas of politics, society, culture, science, law or business in which conflicts between different perspectives, interests and values are part of everyday working life. In particular, the programme qualifies students for the fields of diplomacy and peacebuilding, international cooperation, politics and administration, social dialogue and cultural work. ViAPACS ("Viadrina Applied Peace and Conflict Studies") combines the theoretical approach of peace and conflict research with practical training in conflict resolution and decision-making. It teaches key concepts and skills for dealing with conflicts in professional and private contexts.
In close cooperation with other partners, IKM staff also teach at Adam Mickiewicz University Poznań, Philipps University Marburg and ETH Zurich as well as at non-university institutions (International Diplomatic Academy of the Federal Foreign Office, Mercator Foundation, etc.).
