Felix Würkert is a post-doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg. He received his doctorate from the European University Viadrina with a thesis on "Legal Norms and Legitimacy in Peace Mediation" and studied law at the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg and the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. He also completed his legal clerkship in Hamburg.

He has worked at the Helmut Schmidt University of the Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg and as a consultant at the Federal Foreign Office. He was a research assistant in the externally funded project Mediation Hub European University Viadrina at the Federal Foreign Office at the Institute for Conflict Management at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder), where he was primarily responsible for the project Constitution-Mediation-Nexus, which was carried out jointly with the Berghof Foundation.

He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Institute for Conflict Management at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder).

He is a member of the editorial board of JuWissBlog, chairman of the associated association and a member of the Young UN Research Working Group of the German United Nations Association. He is a part-time lecturer at the Hamburg Police Academy and the College of Europe in Hamburg. He held a DAAD short-term lectureship in German constitutional law at the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing.
