Academic Staff MemberElse Keyers studied Romance studies and political science at the universities of Leuven and Alicante and at the Institute for European Studies in Brussels. With almost two decades of professional experience in the field of international politics, she has worked both in EU institutions and as a Belgian diplomat. As an independent consultant, she specialises in conflict transformation processes and social impact, with a particular focus on fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
Else Keyers is a trained peace mediator and dialogue facilitator. She has worked as an independent researcher and consultant in the field of conflict and context analysis, strategy development, process design and evaluation in the public sector as well as for non-governmental and civil society organisations.
At the Institute for Conflict Management, Else Keyers is a member of the Impact Hub, an interdisciplinary research and advisory body of the German Federal Foreign Office and the Robert Bosch Stiftung. The Impact Hub is tasked with researching the prerequisites for impact and the scientific monitoring of German integrated peace engagement.
