Academic Staff MemberElse Keyers studied Romance studies and political science at the universities of Leuven, Alicane and at the Institute for European Studies in Brussels. As a Belgian diplomat, she worked for 15 years in the EU institutions and specialised in conflict transformation processes and social impact, with a particular focus on fragile and conflict-affected contexts.
Else Keyers is a trained peace mediator and dialogue facilitator. She has worked as an independent researcher and consultant in the field of conflict and context analysis, strategy development, process design and evaluation in the public sector as well as for non-governmental and civil society organisations.
At the Institute for Conflict Management, Else Keyers is active in the "Impact Hub", an interdisciplinary research and advisory body of the Federal Foreign Office and the Robert Bosch Stiftung. The Impact Hub is tasked with researching the prerequisites for impact and the scientific monitoring of German integrated peace engagement.
