Mario Clemens studied peace and conflict studies (M.A.) at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and cultural studies (B.A.) at the European University Viadrina. As part of his bachelor's degree, he spent a semester abroad at Bilgi University (international relations and sociology) and Bahçeşehir University (philosophy and literature), both in Istanbul.

Conducted numerous trainings and seminars in the field of conflict resolution, including interpersonal conflict resolution, conflict theory and conflict analysis. For some time now intensively involved in current learning research and its implications for university teaching.

Leading involvement in the founding and development of the non-profit mediation association ZoffOff e.V. in Berlin-Kreuzberg; first chairman from 2015 to 2019. In the certificate programme Viadrina Applied Peace and Conflict Studies (ViAPACS), regular implementation of the modules "Introduction to Peace and Conflict Studies" (with Anne Holper) and "Conflict Analysis". Also responsible for didactic and curricular issues.
