Dr. Anne Holper

After studying literature at the Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and training in mediation, Anne Holper specialised in applied conflict research and political philosophy in a PhD at the Competence Centre Ethics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, including research stays at Renmin University Beijing with an EU-China Fellowship from the Centre for Applied Policy Research(CAP).

Anne Holper has 20 years of experience in action-oriented research, support and optimisation of mediation and decision-making processes in international political contexts, including in cooperation with the German Federal Foreign Office (Viadrina Mediation Hub, dialogue processes in Ukraine). Her focus is on developing innovative methods for "intractable" conflicts (Tough Choices research clusters with the Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich, swisspeace and Mediation and Dialogue Research Center of Kyiv Mohyla Academy).

She teaches at the Viadrina (ViAPACS, IHL, MSMKM), for the International Diplomacy Academy of the Federal Foreign Office and the International Parliamentary Fellowship Programme of the German Bundestag. As a coach and supervisor (DSGv) she accompanies international and local third-party actors. She is also a faculty member of the master's degree programme Mediation and Conflict Management and the Master of International Humanitarian Rights and Humanitarian Law (LL.M.)
