Round Table on Mediation and Conflict Management in Public Organisations
Mediation and Conflict Management in Public Organisations Round Table
Participation in network of public organisations
Managing and resolving conflicts within the public sector in a professional and systematic manner – that is the goal of the "Round Table on Mediation and Conflict Management in Public Organisations", which was founded in February 2015.
Founding members are the Ministry of Justice of Lower Saxony, the City of Munich, the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder), the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, the Baden-Württemberg Police, the Kolpingstadt Kerpen, Postillion e.V., the University Hospitals of Hamburg-Eppendorf, Tübingen, Würzburg and Mannheim and the University Hospital of Munich.
With the round table, the pioneers of conflict management in the public sector want to network, exchange experiences and support each other in the introduction and further development of conflict management, as authorities and other public organisations also have an increasing need for a professional approach to dealing with conflicts that arise within their organisation.
Systematic conflict management – consisting of well-coordinated elements – contributes significantly to the improvement of communication and conflict cultures, as has already been demonstrated in other contexts, e.g. in the business or university setting.
The contact person and representative of the European University Viadrina is Christian Hochmuth.
