Viadrina Conflict Moderation
In 2014, the university management commissioned the Institute for Conflict Management to accompany and support members of the Viadrina in cases of conflict, in complex decision-making situations and in strategy processes to a limited extent. As part of the programme led by Christian Hochmuth and Lars Kirchhoff, the Viadrina Conflict Moderation was set up. The conflict moderators act neutrally and as (conflict) moderators, mediators or counsellors. They work in complete confidentiality and are not bound by instructions. If they are biased in certain constellations or if there are not enough personnel resources available, the conflict moderators make recommendations for external processors.
The conflict moderation works together with other actors at Viadrina on a selective basis, such as the Discrimination Protection Centre, the Department of Human Resources or the staff councils. Christian Hochmuth and Lars Kirchhoff are the first point of contact.
