Digital network university
Digital network university
The IKM participated in the development of a digital network university to strengthen international cooperation and intercultural dialogue. The Goethe-Institut Moscow was in charge of the project. As part of the "II Winter Academy: Education with Europe" of the "Eastern Partnership" programme funded by the Federal Foreign Office, the participating university representatives from Germany, Russia, Georgia and Ukraine opted for this format. The teaching and learning programme was developed jointly by the participating educational institutions and the first teaching units were offered from October 2018. The project was discontinued in December 2021.
The aim of the network university was to promote transnational learning, particularly in four subject areas:
- Inter-/transcultural understanding
- Conflict prevention and peace research
- Education for sustainable development (ESD)
- DaF training with Content and Language Integrated Learning in German (CLILiG)
The methodology of Education for Sustainable Development was applied across all areas.
The cooperating educational institutions developed courses specifically for the Digital Network University, while IKM staff developed a course on "Applied Conflict Research" in the field of conflict prevention, management and peace research. Participation in Network University courses was open to students from all participating universities.
